I have had two major panic attacks,

Now I live in fear of having another one,I drink coffee all day long so I think this might be a factor in the increase of anxiety. My doctor has prescribed me xanax but it does not help if one comes on right away, I was wondering if I switched to green tea would I stiil have the anxiety , would camomille tea help any?

Answer:

I used to get panic attacks. I don't anymore. I believe they may have been caused by a variety of factors. I was drinking a lot of caffeinated coffee when I experienced them, and found that after I cut back, they began to stop.

Also, I was just under a lot of stress at the time. I, too, starting taking Xanax, and I used it as a tool. Whenever I would drive my car, for example, and start to feel anxious, I would place a Xanax tab on the dashboard, at the same, just trying to focus on driving and realizing that if I needed to, I could just pull over, breath, and be okay, I began to realize that I HAD CONTROL OVER THE ATTACKS, not vice versa. I have to say, the medication really worked for me.

I think one important thing to do is to learn how to "recondition" your brain (mind). Panic attacks don't last forever. Noone has ever died from one, no matter how scary they can feel. And they normally go away and become less and less frequent.

I think meditating is a good thing too.

More importantly, just know that many many people experience the same things that you do. You are not in this alone, and they will go away. Maybe you will never have another ever again!
