I have been taking effexor xr for 2 yrs and lowered my dose to the lowest you can take everyother day for 2 months, when will the electrical impules stop. I had to stop taking it 3 days ago I have no insurance coverage to get more, and no more pills . I need help....

Answer:

If the only reason you are not taking it is because of money, then look into those patitent assistance programs. As for the side-effects, I was on 225mgs and came off over a month and 1/2 time (only partially with a doctor's help). My side effects lasted 2-3 months, I think at least. Effexor and Effexor XR are hell to come off. If you are intentionally coming off for some other reason... there are sites you can go to talk about medicines, one of the best is called "Crazymeds". It is only for medicine effects. And there are others. My thoughts go out to you, you are not alone, though. BE CAREFUL about the depression.

I understand the no insurance part, however if you go to the mental health center their is a form that can be filled out to get your prescriptions for free, drug companies do this as a tax write off, and I am on effexor and pay nothing. It is not a good idea to just stop taking it, their are usually community aids such as srs, salvation army, churches, ect that will help out with a month or two of perscriptions until you begin getting them free. Sometimes you have to just call these services and ask alot of questions, until they direct you to the right place for help, but do this, it is worth it. God bless you and take care.
You can get effexor and effexor xr for free through the Wyeth patience assistance program. This is specifically for you - those who can't afford and do not have health insurance. Almost every medication sold today has a free program for those who can't afford their medications. Links provided below. If you need help with the paperwork, check with your county Mental Health Facility. They probably have someone that does these apps all the time, as I do.
