it's a know fact that zoloft can cause you to put on weight. all SSRIs can, because they change your metabolism when processed by your liver. the ones that pose a lower risk are lexapro and prozac. celexa sometimes but not as much. zoloft and paxil are big offenders in this area. wellbutrin does not cause people to gain weight because it doesnt affect serontonin, most people loose. SNRIs, a new class of drugs, dont always affect weight the same way. its kind of a coin toss whether you gain or you loose weight with them. effexor causes more of a problem with weight gain than cymbalta, which is know to kill your apetite.

I have been put on Zoloft about 6 weeks ago and so far it has not helped me put weight on. As for chest pain etc if you are suffering chest pain you should again see your doctor. Unfortunately this is one medication that I take and it does not have a leaflet with it to tell you of any side effects so you could ask your pharmacist about that also. Not really! You can adjust your diet in case it increases your appetite. If you get short of breath, call your doctor immediately and tell him/her.. Actually, Zoloft is a very good medication, but some people do have side effects. You can always ask your pharmacist about side effects. Good Luck.

Yes it does also your sex drive will suffer as well ask your doctor for Endept you have one a night before bed it helps you sleep and it removes the dark cloud that is over you at the moment and you wont put weight on or loose your mojo and have that dry metallic taste in your mouth you get from Zoloft you need to eat something to kill the taste. I remember that taste as writing this (yuck).
