I have Bipolar disorder Am I abnormal

When people find out that I am bipolar, they treat me different. For example, I used to go to Timberview Middle School. I wanted a fresh start so I didn't say anything to my teachers. Then when I had an outburst, ( this is hard to talk about, I'm embarrassed. ) I had to say something. So she would understand. Then it spread to all the teachers. When I went to High Trails, ( a school week long camping trip ) one of them told the tour guide. I heard her whipsper to her and point to me. The tour guide looked at me funny and treated me like a baby the rest of the hike. I get teased all the time. Is it because they just don't understand it? Or because I'm a freak...

Answer:

First Off Sweetheart know My wife has Bipolar disorder. You are not a freak! You are not abnormal! You can be just as normal as everyone else! It's the way you look at it. If you look at it as a curse than you are not going to be as happy with life as you could be. I would encourage you to look at it as a BLESSING FROM GOD! because you can encourage and educate others and show others that being bi-polar is just different, but at the same time show them how this disorder doesn't effect you because you are still a wonderful and beautiful woman that everyone wants to get to know! The only thing that separates you from the rest is that you must manage and regulate your chemical imbalance in your brain by taking your med's regularly! Other than that YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN ANYBODY ELSE!!!!!<<Believe it sweetheart, you will only let it control you if you let it. My beautiful wife Stacey is no different than anybody else! If you ever met her you would believe she wasn't but she is! I like you to know how my wife gets thou life. First: She sees her psychiatrist every 3 months and stays regular by taking her prescriptions that her psychiatrist recommends. If you are bi-polar know that you have a chemical imbalance in your brain and the only way to straighten it all out and be normal is to take your Med's regularly. If your doctor gives you something that don't seem to work tell him immediately. because my wife told me it took many months and even years to find the right combination of prescriptions before she felt normal. In addition, me and my wife are Christians we believe know matter what life gives us that we believe in God and Jesus to help us through it! I have battle through just depression and my wife like you know is bi-polar and the one thing me and her agree on is that what really turned our lives around before we met each other was these three things: 1. Knowing that God and Jesus Loved us and that we knew we were valued! 2. Knowing we had people on our side at church, in our social life and in our family that cared about us! and 3. We both had to get ourselves out of the atmosphere that we were in! If all you do is stay in the darkness thinking about how it is never going to get better and think why life is not worth living. Than your going to be proving yourself right and it will not get better! But, if you build a personal relationship with other people and most importantly a relationship with God! Then you will see yourself back with a renewed joy! Know what the bible says about depression: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed! (2 Cor. 4:8-9)God said: Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired and weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who HOPE in the Lord will RENEW THEIR STRENGTH! (Isa 40:28-31,41:10,Ps.50:15)
