should i avoid them because my esteem go boom.

Better than avoiding mirrors would be to get some help to improve your self esteem. A therapist can do this, or there are many self-help articles and books you can read and learn from.


Analyze your "self-talk". What do you think about when you look in mirrors? Is there a certain part of yourself that you dislike? If so, what can you do to fix that part of yourself? If there is not much you can do to fix it, perhaps seeing a therapist might help improve your self confidence in that area or help you cope or accept/tolerate what you see. Even if you do decide to avoid mirrors, there are always places that inevitably have mirrors, like dressing rooms and bathrooms. So the thing to do is to work on is how you are thinking about yourself when you look in a mirror. Your friends probably see you better than you see yourself in terms of body image, they can sometimes be helpful in improving your body image. If they aren't, then find a support group that does help.
you should definitely stop looking in mirrors and go sign up for the army.
I believe that the "fix" to your problem is to challenge yourself to with every mirror you encounter. Regardless of your "feelings" focus on your "thinking" and ask yourself what is making you uncomfortable. Is it something about your reflection or is it a fear to see something else? I strongly believe that looking your problems in the face, (literally in this case), is the quickest way to solve them. Then again, I suppose you may be of vampirical descent and hate having no reflection. 8-P
