I got prescribed Lexapro, anyone have any bad experiences from it, or good ones for that matter

I am nervous to take it because I don't want any weird side effects, so please tell me your experiences with it.
Answer:Lexapro saved my life!!! I was very sick with depression. Lexapro has very few side effects. No weight gain, no sexual side effects, no nothing from my taking of it. You will start to feel better in about 2 weeks and be totally well in 6 weeks. I no longer have panic attacks, I can concentrate, I can sleep, eat and laugh again. My life has a meaning now...I own my own business and I love life. You can too!
Lexapro is also used to 'slow ' a man down during sex. It will help to relieve stress and worry. Follow the doctors advice and consult with him if you have any complaints about taking it. The first pill will usually make you sleepy but that gets better after a day or two.
i was on it for about 5 months and the only problem i had was being really slepepy! expecially at around 4 pm. i switched to celexa and on a lower dosage and fell so much better. life is better now. i needed it for a long time. april ps. and yes it lowered my sex drive , sucks
I was on it for a while and the only problem I had ith it was my body like got used to the dosage so it stopped having an effect on me, so I had to switch to Effexor XR. Otherwise, it was a really good medicine, but it is really for people with mild depression so if ur really bad, u may want to talk to ur dr about something else
If you don't feel comfortable taking medications, try therapy and just plain ol' waiting it out. Treat medication as a last resort. When treatment is over, patients with depression treated with drugs have a higher likelihood of relapse wheras patients with the same diagnoses who sought therapy either in addition to or instead of medication did not. Think about it.
That's the first drug my first doctor tried and I did not react well to it. It increased my anxiety, my racing thoughts, my self-destructive behaviour. It basically made everything that was wrong worse. Everybody reacts differently to all these psychiatric meds, so it could work great for you. It's a challenge to find the right meds but it's totally worth the trouble.
I was on 10 mg of Lexapro.
