No one, not even your surgeon, can give you a 100% guarantee that there will not be postoperative urinary incontinence. This, along with impotence, are the possible risks of the procedure.

Afteward, in recovery, you will find you have a urine catheter in place. At the same time urine is being collected, your bladder will be flushed with a cleansing solution. The catheter will be removed in 2 - 3 days when your urine is clear of blood clots. You may feel a constant urge to urinate once the catheter is removed but this normally disappears in 24 hours.
