Why is my dad bald
May be if her father is able to go to an expert this can tell to your friend's father the circumstances of his baldness ans the possible remedies.
its inherited from his mothers father.
Genetic Factors:
The Baldness gene is located on the X chromosome in humans. This particular gene is actually recessive, that is why you don't see to many bald women. If only one gene gets over to the women who has the dominate gene for non baldness then, they will not go bald. Since men only get on X, and baldness is actually a very common recessive gene, men are more likely to get it. Thus men should look to their mothers side of the family to see how their hairlines will look in 5,10,15, or 20 years. If both of your grandpas have a full head of hair, more than likely, you will too.
Stress Factors:
Stress causes the hair folicles on your head to thin, which in turn, causes them to fall out. This is only temporary, as hair can grow back from this once the stress has gone away.
Hormonal Factors:
This ties into genetic factors. The hormone in the body known as DHT is a form of Testosterone, which is also known as a Androgen. A surplus of Testoterone in the body causes the body to change Testosterone into DHT which will then cause your hair to fall out. However, there are certain measure that can be taken to stop DHT from attacking your hair. You can use hair shampoos that will block the DHT from attacking the follicle. Rogaine or Propecia is one of them. Running has be proven to actually lower the amount of DHT in the body.
Some studies have shown that frequent sex, or masturbation cause the levels of DHT in the body to rise, which can then cause hair to fall out.
