Why does my whole upper body ache badly a day after i do a lot of pushupsIm skinny by the way
As far as how long it will take, that will depend on your routine, diet, rest and other factors. Since you don't seem to have a clue what you are doing and are just "taking a stab at it" so to speak, it might take longer than with others who have some clue as to what they are doing when working out.
But then, most body builders and other athletes don't have the slightest clue what they are doing even after doing it for many months, and then wonder why they progress so slowly when they never bothered to figure out how to do it right.
Try not to fall into this category.
One last thing, the time it takes to build up muscle bulk noticeable to others is often grossly underestimated by people who haven't done this before. It can take a number of months, even if you're doing a half-way decent job with your routine.
The general rule though is that the younger one is, the faster the progress in a good routine. In effect, teens with fast healing bodies and high testosterone have an edge over guys who are older.
there is no way to know how long it will take, the work is what makes you ache silly, it will take a good while. just keep at it.
