It happens to me i have got into a routine of getting up at that time for school so my body clock 'wakes' me up i suppose

Internal alarm clock. I wake up at 5:30 every morning even if its my day off. I can go back to sleep but I will wake up at 5:30...winter and summer. Its like my sub conscious is trained to be fully conscious whenever I sleep.

If I have to wake up at 2:00 AM to catch a flight or something, I can do it with out an alarm clock every time and never oversleep...I tell myself as I'm climbing into bed..."Don't forget to wake up at 2...and I do!!!The mind is a funny thing.

My mind doesn't work the opposite though. I can tell myself, "Ahh! Tomorrow is Saturday...don't forget you can sleep in." But I will still wake up at 5:30. The only time I over sleep is when I wake up very sick with a fever or if I suffer from jet lag...then I over sleep and my internal clock doesn't work. I never set an alarm clock unless I cross the international date line.

If you ever find out why, be sure to let me know! Sleep patterns is all I can figure.

Because the more you do something it becomes a habit. So your brain knows what time u get up.
