Why am I short
First thing people say it鈥檚 genes. I鈥檓 5鈥?, but my mother is 5鈥?1, my dad is 5鈥?. My sister is 6鈥?. All of my moms鈥?brothers are 6鈥?, all of my male cousins on my mom鈥檚 side are 6鈥?, and all of my female cousins on my mom鈥檚 side are around 5鈥?1.
My dad was oddly the shortest of his brothers at 5鈥?, while the rest of them are 5鈥?1. My male cousins on his size are around 5鈥?1, and my female cousins on my dad鈥檚 side are around 5鈥?.
I鈥檝e wondered so much as to wonder if I鈥檓 even my dad鈥檚, but we do looks alike, and have the same birthmarks, so that can鈥檛 be either.
I always ate very good nutritious food; I鈥檝e been on a swim team from age 12 until today at 25. It can鈥檛 be because I didn鈥檛 eat well, and it can鈥檛 be because I wasn鈥檛 active enough. It鈥檚 not because of genes.
Why am I short?
Answer:Actually it is pretty much because of genes.
Height isn't controlled in the same easy way that, say, blue eyes or blood type are. Parents with o-type blood will have babies with o-type blood.
Height is controlled by a variety of genes, interacting together. You would definitely be more likely to be taller if your parents were tall, but it's not necessarily the case.. you could just say you lucked out and got the few shorter genes that your parents were hiding.
