I am a 6'0" 185lb male in great shape, and i love running, but my entire lower back (especially the sides next to my spine) absolutely kill me regardless if i run outside or treadmill (even on an elliptical!)...is it the shoes im wearing (i have 2 pairs, Nike Shox Plus and Nike Max Air...i want to switch to New Balance) or the way im running? I lift, i bike, i stretch, and this is pretty much the only thing holding me back...any suggestions will help
Answer:It's bad to hear your feet hit the ground. If you hear your footfalls, you're getting too much impact from your steps. That might cause back pain too.
Maybe you should try seeing a chiropractor. You might just need some adjustments.
You need to see a doctor on this. It could just be the action of running
Its not because you run thats the cause of your backpain. The injury was already there, so running makes you feel the pain. Slipped disc? Pinched Nerve? Run to a doctor right away.
