I know it should be when the people involved are mature but is there a general age?

Answer:

There is no right or wrong age for this. It is when both of you feel comfortable with each other and want to experience this together. I was 15 when I lost my virginity, it was with my boyfriend of 4 years, because we were so young of course we were not in love but we trusted each other and wanting to experience sex for the first time with each other.

A lot of my friends first had sex around the age of 16 and 17, that seems to be a common age, but just as long as you feel ready then go for it :)

there is no right age you should make sure its with the right person thou cos if you just do it to lose virginity then you may get a partner in years to come who is very jealous or insecure and none too happy that you had loads of partners instead of waiting till it is right.

There is no exact age. U can have sex once u feel ur ready to do it. U should also be responsible for ur acts, never forget this and remember USE PROTECTION!!
