I have lower back problems and some exercises hurt. What exercises should I do.

Answer:

This is my personal opinion! I have tried and it worked. I went to Pilate's workout and the instructor give me two exercises that are so easy. And because I have also a lower back problems it does`n hurt a bit. I know that Pilate's is a bit girlie workout but it worked. Is is a slower progress but very healthy and safe.

You should lie down on your stomach and only lift up on your elbows. You should remain on that position until you count to 50. Than turn your legs first to left and count to 50, than to right and count to 50. You are still elevated on your elbows while your legs are turned. After a while you should enlarge the counting whit 5 per weak.

I hope it works out for you as it did to me.

Having lower back problems can be a real problem when trying to develop the abdomen since the lower back muscles are used for stability during a crunch. Really the best way to deal with the problem is to strengthen the lower back if at all possible. However, there are still a few exercises you might be able to do with your problem; they do require some sort of equipment, however. Using a captain's chair would be an effective way of strengthening your lower abdominals because all the work is concentrated in those muscles. I realize that a captain's chair isn't something a normal person would own, but your local gym should have one. Also, doing crunches on an exercise ball may not put alot of strain on the lower back. The idea is to get up off the floor where there is alot of pressure and expectations put on the lower back.
