you can use condoms as rubbers. I wouldn't suggest using anything else. They are designed for that specific reason. Anything else could bring issues like pregnancy, infection, etc. And there's nothing else quite like sex.... oh, except warm apple pie!

As far as what can you use besides a condom NOTHING! You can get a condom at most gas stations in the mens room for like 75 cents. So if you are imbarassed go there. Also many helth depatments give out free condoms, just go in and ask or have someone go in for you.
