It depends on the study. In the types of studies where the guy measures himself it's usually above 6 inches, while in those where guys are measured it's usually below the six inch range. But the average is around there; to make it easy, at 6 inches erect/hard. Anything between 4 and 8 inches erect/hard is the norm, while soft size just doesn't matter (some guys are "growers" where they grow a lot when they become erect while others are "show-ers" because they look large when soft but don't grow much more to get erect).
