I am a 28 yr old male. I used to workout vigorously during my college days. I have stopped that schedule for about 8 yrs now. I have again started working out slowly but I intend to increase on the period and schedule now. I have started slow jogs and light weights. Earlier I used to have enough stamina to continue working out till hours together. Now I am not getting that right start may be for lack of stamina and a proper foundation.

Answer:

Try an apple or orange...some type of fruit...It will not weigh heavy on the stomach and has the complex carbs and natural sugar you need for a boost. And drink plenty of water. Give yourself time and you will see the stamina and strength you had before.

Oatmeal is the right choice. Complex carb great for energy fiber for satiety and it raise testerone levels too.
A meal of whole grain cereal or toast with perhaps a banana ,or dried apricots that are loaded with potassium. You don't want to heavy a meal to workout on.

After the workout , within the first 30-40 min you need to have a meal with protein , a steak, chicken breast, fish, eggs what ever you like plus another serving of grains, beans,or brown rice. Green salad made of the baby field greens will ad allot of nutrition to your meal.

This should help as well as just adding a little more to your workout every day to get back where you were when you quit. With that long of a lay off it will be slow going, but your muscles do remember what its about.
