when it comes to these kind of boots u do get what u pay for iv had a pair of carolinas for about a year and i hav to wear them everyday iv been happy with them red wing r good too the best thing u can do is go to whatever good outdoor or whatever store ur gonna buy em from and try on as many as it takes to find the one that will suite you best it all depends on if u want light or thick boots theheel hight and how much up and down stuff u might do hope u find what works best for u

I was in metal machining for 33 years, and I guarantee you, "FootRests" by HYTEST shoes are among the finest work boots on the market. Cost was never an issue where my feet were concerned and it's just stupid to buy cheap boots, anyway. See link below.

From my experience I will say timberlands, the tan 6 inch construction boots that are waterproof or you can also try Wolverine with steel toes.
