Weight Lifting stuns growth O_o
Hey
Ive been hearing alot that wight lifting can cause you to stop growing earlier than you should.
I am a 16 yeard old 5'10 male skeleton, i want to be way taller as my dad is 5'11 and i have alot of 6'6-'3 uncles and stuff.
I know im still growing, i dont want to ruin my growth but i would like to stop being a skel...
So will it stop it or even enhace it? If it does not stop ot why does everyone keep saying it O_o?
If it does why is Gobernator 6'2? he rocks O_O
Answer:No, that is a myth.
Talk to your doctor about exercise. They will probably tell you not to lift really heavy weights, but, weight lifting alone will not stunt growth.
I started at 5'10" and I am 6'2" I did not get really serious until I was 22 and I quit when I was 25 and got married. I still bench around 245 max and I am now 45. In spite of all the trash talk you hear muscles are something that last you a life time and building them is good for you.
Don't do steroids until your mid twenties though, that will stunt your growth and screw you up.
whats with the 0_0? its weird lol
weight lifting is fine, wont stunt your growth unless you strain and grow the muscles in your lower back, if they get too big they can push up on the nerves of the spine cause it to stop sending growth messages.
It may help you grow taller by because your more fit, but it definitely won't stunt growth unless you lift weight's that are way to heavy for you.
Weight training can actually strengthen ur bones. As u may know, too much of anything can be bad for u. Knowing ur body always helps. Knowing when u need to push ur self and when u are pushing too hard is very important. Following a healthy diet is very important especially when u are working ur body harder than usual. U obviously have access to the internet so I would advise u to do a little research on the appropriate foods and vitamins that u have to increase when taking part in weight training. And please be reasonable when deciding the size that u want to be. Be careful and i would also advise u to consult ur physician as far as ur plans and any advice that they may have.
You can lift, but don't lift extreme weights and go crazy.
