Serious question: went to brothel recently, am worried about sti risk - should I be

It's generally believed that the women in brothels are often safer partners than women you meet in a bar. Brothels are businesses, so it behooves the management to have healthy employees; hence, they usually have their women checked for STDs very frequently and have taught them about safe sex techniques. Assuming you used a condom on top of all that, I don't think you really need to worry too much, but of course it wouldn't hurt to get checked by a doctor since there is no 100% safe type of sex and also because that would put your mind at ease (as to the health concerns.)

And, yes, you should feel like a bastard. It's a crappy thing to cheat even if it's just for the sex act, but at least you have the decency to feel bad about it. I wouldn't tell her about it no matter how bad you feel. If my boyfriend did such a thing and regretted it so that he never did it again, I really don't think I'd want to know. But you should get to the bottom of why you went to the brothel in the first place and deal with that issue.
