Quad exercises>
wat good are quuad exercises for vertical jump that dont have lots of cardiio used
Answer:Start in a squat position (legs at 90 degrees) and push upward as fast and hard as possible...repeat 10 times and do 3 to 4 sets...
Some aerobics (needed to get the fuel to the muscles) but highly effective.
Working on the explosiveness of your muscles (I don't recall the official term), as well as muscle strength will help you on your vertical.
In high school I started out at 20" vertical jump test, later that year I was I believe around 28".
Do squats (normal).
Do squats (explode up, IN control as to not hurt yourself or drop the weight).
I really have started to like lunges, take two dumbells and hold them on your side and step out and back (or do it while moving forward). Explode on your way up (in control).
Make sure you always have a spotter.
A few things you could try that are cardio (which is important, not just weights), are skipping, for height and then again for length (you want all your muscles working). Frog hops also.
Good luck.
