Phimosis have any of you males experienced this
over the age of fifty, what were your experiences, what do you think?
Answer:I'm assuming this man has been sexually active throughout his life. In which case, he should see a urologist if he is suddenly having symptoms.
On the other hand, if he has had this condition throughout his adult life, has no pain during sex, and it has not bothered him before, he can just leave it alone.
The foreskin is a protective membrane which also provides extra sensitivity to a man during sex. I would strongly caution against any thoughts of adult circumcision - this might lead to problems with sexual function at that age. The body is accustomed to the amount of sensitivity, and if that is reduced (which it would be by circumcision) then he may be unable to climax during vaginal intercourse.
If the foreskin is tight enough to cause discomfort during sex, then stretching exercises or a simple operation where a small incision is made in the side of the foreskin should be sufficient to address the problem.
Run a mile from any urologist that suggests circumcision, and get a second opinion. The American Medical Association no longer recommends routine circumcision.
If he was fine before and it's suddenly tightened up then he probably has a yeast or fungal infection, easily treated with a tube of cream from a pharmacy, perhaps in conjunction with a an oral pill as well.
If it's always been tight then he can try stretching. See the link below for instructions. Circumcision is a last resort treatment and should not be used as a first option, as is often the case in the USA.
