i told my doctor that i wasn't concentrating during intercourse. she told me that prozac would work. is it true?

Ask you Dr for an exam of your specific symptom. If she is old and/or homely, ask for a referral to a hot intern.

Actually, it's known to hurt a person's sex drive. Everybody is different though, so it may be worth a try.

Well let me try to give you 2 pieces of advice.

1. Concentrate on your maths homework. You shouldn't have to concentrate when you are making love. After my first time, I had it all figured out as to what goes where and when. Now I can do it with my eyes closed.

2. Prozac and Zoloft and the other SSRI anti-depressants can really knock your sex drive out the window. I didn't know it could have the same effect on women until I read some of the answers above. I don't know what your doctor is talking about, unless he/she means that you are so uptight that it is effecting you in bed. But he/she should be aware of the effects of Prozac et al on the libido.

Actually, these drugs can leave the libido untouched, so you still have the urge to have sex. They can just make it harder to actually reach orgasm, or have a proper erection. But there are other things you can take if you find that Prozac or suchlike effects you in this way. It depends on how much you value your sex life too.

Yes and no. If you are so depressed you are not having sex than it can help. If you are on it be aware it can actually lower your libido. It effects everyone differently so just be careful and talk to your doctor. ~GL

Drugs may not help with the concentration, it will only lessen your sex drive and makes it numb.
