PRO...probably pretty immediate pain relief if it is chronically inflammed (once the surgical pain goes away)

CONS...risk of infection, possible tendon damage later on as the tendon rubs over a boney prominence. (The function of a bursae is to protect the tendon from irritation from boney prominences)
