If it doesn't hurt and/or change the color too much, and/or it doesn't became habit forming(who knows)...It really is up to you. Personaly, I wouldn't bother with it. Just soap and water should do the job. Have you thought about "showering together"?

It's better to use baby powder because deoderant might irritate the skin down there. Most guys just use a little baby powder.
Never had, never will, don't stink down there. More likely you are not taking care of business properly in the rear end, and leaving some smell back there. Deodorant will mask that, but really, just wash your butt thoroughly!@
