why would one pupil be larger than the other

health advisory Hospital Doctor Yu 2007-11-8 19:09:39

"Background: Anisocoria, or difference in pupil size, is a common condition. A variety of potential causes for anisocoria exist, ranging from life threatening to trivial or normal variation."

Given that you are alert and able to key in a question here, it is unlikely that you have any *acute* cause of asymmetrical pupils. Naturally, this cannot exclude a *chronic* cause, so if you have constant headaches, you may wish to be evaluated by a physician. Finally, the odds are good that this condition may have an entirely benign cause.
