Answers:I agree! Look how easy it is for us to lose a finger, toe, arm or leg--even compared to other primates like monkeys or apes.
It is definitely in the weaker but wiser category. I wish we could eat once a quarter, for example, or at least regrow extremities. This warm blooded, long gestation, long nurturance existence is exhausting!
Evolution.
The body is very capable of healing itself.

Take a look around at what has been accomplished through the ability to modify and utilize the environment.
Short end of the stick? We are the top animal on the planet.
Your perception of humans is being viewed from the wrong end of the telescope. Look at all the crap we can ingest and still live to our 40s and 50s. All the diseases and accidents that we survive. You are very inaccurate when you say we are fragile. Compared to a Peterbilt? Yes, we are somewhat fragile although we will likely outlive the truck. Compared to a bug or worm? Despite our complexity, we are incredible survivors and outlast, even thrive well beyond most organisms. You just aren't looking at us from the proper perspective.
Are bodies aren't fragile, I fact, our bodies are a lot more resilient than you might think.
