Cirrhosis is defined as diffuse fibrosis of the hepathocyts and is a chronic and permanent damage of the liver cells. Liver is the central laboratory of the human body and is responsible for metabolism of many molecules: carbohydrates, lipids and nitrogen containing compounds. Liver is also a place of syntheses of many protein such as albumin, coagulation factors transport proteins, proteins of the acute phase and enzymes. Thus, the cirrhosis being the loss of functional liver tissue results in dis function and change in many methabolicall pathways including proteins.
because the liver filters out everything first before anything gets absorbed, it is the first line of filters. And before the cirrhosis there is the fatty liver.
B/C the liver makes certain proteins.
