near the left ear i keep having a dull ache and i have to keep clearing mythroat

Speaking from personal experience it is one of three things:

a) Bacterial infection

b) Viral infection

c) Your on your way to get a Cold/

IT could be your throat or your ear. You may have an infected tonsil. Try gargling with warm very salty water. If this doesn't stop it, you will have to go to the doctor for an antibiotic.
