When someone in the room with me or even on the phone, and they yawn, I always yawn. What is the scientific reason behind that?
Answers:There have actually been some studies on this phenomenon, and it is thought to be a regulatory mechanism to help people all get sleepy at the same time, thus modulating group activities, increasing likelihood of survival for our ancestors.
I had a cat that I could make yawn by looking at it when I yawned, so apparently, at least in my small one subject study, this phenomenon is not limited to a single species.
well let me tell you,i think its compatibility;.the more you are the more likely you are to yawn.if you want to find out how compatible you are to someone, yawn then count to find out how long it takes, the quicker he or she is that will tell you how much!if it is really close and the person is married..it suck,but..leave it alone!that's the right thing!don't tell them how you feel ,it won't work!!.
Yawning seems to be contagious. If you see someone yawn you are in the room with them, in the same environment. Yawning is caused by lack of oxygen in the brain. It is from breathing shallowly. This might be from boredom or sleepiness due to lack of oxygen. If you get up and exercise and breath deeper you will stop yawning.
