4 months ago, I took a hit from my brother in a roller hockey game. So I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get MRI's on my knee. The PCL in my left need is partially torn.
I can walk and run normally, but I know that something still doesn't feel right. I was just wondering if it will heal on its own, or if I must get surgery?
Basically no more hockey or gymnastics for me.
Answers:your PCL is not vascular and will not heal on it's own. I'm afraid you need surgical intervention.
Ligaments don't have any blood flow to them to provide healing. They are usually sewn up in a surgical procedure. Check with your doctor. Didn't he/she say anything when you had it checked?
No, they don't regrow. WHen it bothers you enough, have surgery.
