Does anyone know why the Radius bone is called the Radius?

because it turns around the ulna, like a circle, and the distance between it and the ulna would be a radius

If you stand in correct anatomical position, parts of the body that are closest to the "core" of the body are known as radial, hence, the radius.as compared to its neighboring bone, the ulna.which is distal (or farther away from the "core" of the body).

"radius" is simply Latin for "rod". Not a very imaginative name, but quite descriptive.
