Why is it when your hands/feet are cold and you hop in the shower it feels like your burning

I mean when it's cold (like it is here right now, lol) and you go and jump in the bath or shower; and to the rest of your body it feels nice and warm, but to your hands and feet it feels bloody hot? Like they're burning? Why is that?

Answers:

When it's cold, your blood vessels in your extremities (hands and feet) constrict, restricting blood flow. When you jump into a hot bath or shower, the vessels open up, and blood flow returns. With the increased blood flow, all of the nerve endings are stimulated, causing the tingling or burning sensations. What you are feeling are your nerve endings waking up.

I have never experienced that - ever - it sounds quite abnormal. I'd go seek medical attention. It sounds like you may have a circulatory problem.
i think it's because its a little bit of a shock to your hands and feet for all of a sudden being in warm water and your body is just trying to maintain balance
Never experienced that. When it's hot, and I jump into the shower, My hands and feet feels OK, but my body is very COLD.
