Why do some people feel extremely uncomfortable when they see someone scratch a glass-sheet with the
Others have the same sensation(discomfort or even distress)seeing someone sharpen a knife with a steel-rod sharpener, and other similar activities.Does this concept have a name?what's the scientific explanation for this phenomenon?
Answers:Probably the sound frequency is a bit high. Like when you hear something screech. High frequency sounds always cause uncomfortable behavior in humans, according to tests, this is no different
OMG I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT before!
its not seeing it. its hearing the sound. its sends chills up your back.
Uh.because the sound it makes is anooying? Seriously, this kind of thing shouldn't be that hard to figure out.
i have read this in somewhere before (sorry can't remember from where):
the high pitch sound of scratching glass-sheet with nails, or scratching blackboard with nails, are similar to the sound made by apes/monkeys, asking for help when they are in danger.
if you believe in evolution, that human evolve from ape (somehow). maybe that's is the ancient instinct we inherite from our ancient ancestors - feeling uncomfortable hearing an emergency call and relate it to danger.
The answer . 100-s yers ago people belive in ambient dangerous by hearing the sound of that strach .Actually this is the sound of monkeys . So now, we have the same bad feeling as people 100-s yers ago. That bad feeling is the feel of dangerous.
