Why do people cry with tears
Is it a chemical reaction or what?
Answers:We cry for emotional reasons-emotional stress, depression or physical pain. Emotional stimulation sends signal to the nervous system to innervate the lacrimal duct to produce tears which is then secreted by the lacrimal glands. The lacrimal glands are located in the upper/outer quadrant of the orbit. The secretory cells of the lacrimal gland produce a highly complex product of water, ions and proteins and toxic substances released during crying. At least five neurotransmitter receptors and three different second message systems are involved in controlling the different secretory processes of this highly sophisticated secretory epithelium. The gravity is responsible for passive drainage of tears while blinking facilitates active drainage. Then comes down the water- that is tear when crying.鈾?
People have tear ducts, ie glands that produce the fluid as needed.
It's just water that runs out of your body just like sweating. No chemicals involved.
We all have Lachrymal ( tear ) glands that produce & shed tears. These glands are located under the upper lid. Tears are a natural phenomena. They protect eyes from drying, infection & other irritants. Extra tears are realeased by emotional cry, through which germs are killed & tears also provide relief from stress. Used tears are channelled into the nasal cavity where they are either swallowed or blown out. Excess tears overflow from the lower lid & move down the cheeks!
