i have a cold & ive had it for a week & its still realy bad, & i went to the doctors & he told me to take tylonol & thin strips but they dont work so well.i think wen you take a warm bath u will feel better & ive been realy hot & washcloths that u put on ur forehead that dont realy help either.what can i do?

eat lots of chicken soup and drink lots of fluids

It has been shown that the average cold without any medication will last between 7-10 days. Colds that have been helped with medication will last between a week and a week and a half.

The cold will last about the same either way, you may just feel a little better with medicine.

Doctors know there is no cure for a cold. Nevertheless, your doctor doesn't sound terribly with it or sympathetic. Get a new one.

Meantime, look for a LIQUID medicine on the shelf, TYLENOL COLD. There are several versions of it, depending what symptoms you want to dull. I get MULTI-SYMPTOM. Use the "daytime" variety for the day (it won't put you to sleep) and the "nighttime" variety for the night (it helps you sleep well without being super-druggy).
