What herb is the best for use as a sedative/tranquilizer

I know that catnip, skullcap, valerian, and lemon balm are all used for this purpose, but which one of these is the best or is there another you'd suggest that I haven't mentioned? Thanks so much for your advice.
Answer:Try Catnip. rosemary, and Chamomile. Those are the best calmatives that I can think of at the moment.
Valerian root is a sedative. The medicine valium is was made from valerian root for a while.
pot is the best no fooling
My boss swears by melatonin. It's actually a naturally occurring hormone that you can buy in tablet form.

Marijuana is by far the best plus all the other effects are great too
