I have used acupuncture several times for pinched nerves and have had amazing results. I'm generally a skeptic about alternative therapy. I was talked into it by a friend when I had a very painful nerve pinch in my shoulder. I hadn't really slept for three days because of the pain. After my first treatment I had to really concentrate just driving home because I was becoming so relaxed. When I got home I didn't even make it to my bedroom, I collapsed on my couch and slept solidly for six hours. When I awoke I ate a small dinner,stayed up for two hours and went back to sleep (this time in my bed)for eight solid hours of sleep. When I woke up my shoulder felt a little weak, but there was no pain. In about three days I felt like I had gained total strength in my arm.

I also tried it to quit smoking with much less success. After the acupuncture therapy was over I felt like I had to quit all over again. I think its success rate depends on what you're using it for.
