Should marijuana be legal for medical purposes
I have a friend with MS ( Multiple Scelrosis). Is is wrong for her to smoke pot to ease the cramps and the pain?
Answer:in many parts of mexico its still used today by curanderos in herbal medicine... its used to treat nausea after chemotherapy, as an anticonvulsant, an analgesic, an asthma treatment (yes! pot dialates bronchioles) for glaucoma, tumor inhibitor for lung cancer, an antibacterial agent, and to increase peripheral vasodialation...and thats just the ones that have been proven in the lab.
first mention of pot as medicine was in the Chinese Emperor's Pharmacopoeia 3000 years ago.
folk uses: treatment for beri beri, gout, constipation, absent mindedness (?), gonorrhea, chest pain, choking, insomnia, neuralgia, painful rheumatism, gastrointestinal disorders, cholera, tetanus, epilepsy, strychnine poisoning, acute bronchitis, whooping cough, asthma, impending abortion, weak contractions, and as a mild sedative.
ps the effects/side effects have been well documented for 3000 yrs...

Marijuana should be legal period. Nothing wrong with that, i have a friend of mine with MS who uses it for pain relief too.
Absolutely ! there are many diseases and disease proceesses that would benefit from marijuan, MS, glaucoma, some cancers, other gi dieases.the only reason it's not legal it that since we can all grow it anywhere, the government has no way to tax us.
Well, she can smoke pot to ease the pain and cramps with no side effects or they can put her on prescribed medication that will not only ease the pain but make her groggy as well as having all sorts of side effects.
