Try first--for the sake of arguement: Just going for a 20-40 minute walk outdoors before bed.
Try to not drink any caffeine after 2pm ( Hard I'm sure if your only on 2-3 hours of sleep) drink just cold water.
Its probably some stress that isn't helping you.
This will be the most bizarre answer, I am sure, but it works. I used to have terrible insomnia and I looked up insomnia in a juicing book and it said that celery juice was good for it. I tried it and I have to tell you, it always works, I have no idea why. If you have a juicer, you should try it. Some other things I have tried that have also worked are yoga before bed, Kava Kava (its an herb - only the liquid worked for me, not the capsules), Gaba (an amino acid). Good luck, I know how hard it is.
short term use.. melatonin will help you fall asleep....
in the long term use......... it causes seratonin inbalances.... and when seratonin is not well regulated in the brain.....DEPRESSION becomes an issue.....
There are better alternatives to help you fall asleep.....
see your doctor... stressing about the future.. can.. be a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder...... and can be treated... and with the proper treatment.. sleep will come naturally.
but stay away from the MELATONIN..... unless of course that you want to do nothing but sleep as you are depressed and don't have any energy to do those projects.. etc.
I tried melatonin and the capsules didn't do a thing for me but the GNC brand that dissolves under the tongue had me asleep within 20 minutes or less
