Should i take melatonin
i have trouble sleeping because i have many things on my mind like allmy school projects and the future. i always think about stuff when i am laying in bed. i researched it and it says that it's natural and just helps u sleep easier. sometimes i don't fall asleep until like 2-4am. and i have to wake up at 640am to get ready for school. so i need more hrs of sleep. what do u think?
Answer:Before you go to sleep, try to meditate for a while. This means shutting yourself to thoughts. It takes great practise. But if you keep at it, for half an hour before you actually hit the bed, you may find that it helps.
There are of course other methods such as not drinking coffee too near bedtime and taking a warm bath before sleeping.

Melatonin is controversial and some say it doesn't help. Try researching on creating a sleeping situation that helps your body and mind get ready to sleep on time. Don't do anything but sleep in your bed, no TV, no reading, it should just be for sleep so your body knows its time to sleep when you lie there. Have a routine before bed that is relaxing and that will help you sleep. A warm shower or bath, warm milk or read a book for a while. One trick I use is I write everything on my mind down on paper, the list is usually long but once it is on paper I don't have to have the thoughts running through my head. I even write down my worries and fears. Hope this helps.
Melatonin had a big surge back in the late 80's and early 90's. Nothing ever came out of it and the latest stuff says it is nothing of any value. All these promises of alternative medicines are even worse, then the hope we have in new main line pharmacology. Lets face it if these things truly worked as they are to tauted then they would be selling off the shelves. Main line medicine can be as much a $20 a pill which is outrageous but they still sell it for that even if it doesn't work that well. Just look at Male enhancement drugs which have become the most sold Pharmacology in this country today. It may work to some extent but they sell it at about $10 a pill and they are selling like crazy. If any of these alternatives truly worked would they also not sell as well regardless of the cost? I dare say they would. Follow the money is the key to many questions. See how many people buy and re-buy these supplements. Many people do, but they are nothing compared to real medicine.
Hello, just wanted to let you know of a miracle pill that puts you to sleep, available over the counter, is actually very very beneficial for your health, and is only 3 bucks!! I had trouble falling asleep for years. I would lay in bed, and think and think and think for hours before I could fall asleep. It was literally driving me crazy!! I had tried every over the counter sleeping pill on the market and nothing helped. I turned to Nyquil and that did the trick. I had been drinking Nyquil almost every night to go to sleep until I stumbled upon this miracle sanity saving nutritional supplement named MELATONIN. And you can buy it at any GNC health food store. I advocate GNC because the melatonin they use goes through 85 different quality checks before its bottled. Buy the sublingual melatonin. The kind that dissolves underneath your tongue tastes like cherries and it鈥檚 good for you!! I was shocked at the effectiveness in putting me to sleep. If you have any questions before you buy it the sales associate at GNC should be able to answer any questions you have. It comes in 1 mg, I take 2 right before bed. The only side effects are weird dreams for the first two nights if any at all. Must take the sublingual kind from GNC for potency, should be taken at regular bedtimes in the evening.
