My blood pressure is high, but I cant afford to go to a doctor
3) Eliminate all salt with Sodium and buy Potassium salt, it tastes the same and does not affect your blood pressure.
If the condition persists after you do this for 3 months : GO SEE A DOCTOR.
Good luck with it. Let me know if you have further questions.
Garlic will give you temporary lowered blood pressure. I won't say oat meal but I will say get a variety of fiber back in your diet. And slow down on the red meats. Stay away from fast food stores. Remember vegetables and fruits? They still taste good.
Oatmeal is gross:) Try to keep getting it checked for free such as community screenings, parish (church) nurse, or the pharmacy so you know your range and can make sure you are not getting worse. It is possible the high blood pressure is a result of something else or a symptom of something more complex.
Reducing sodium and increasing exercise are a great start. Increasing potassium also can help, but if you have no idea about your overall health, go easy on the potassium. Foods that provide it include bananas, avacados, and potatoes. Some light salts are made with potassium and are lower in sodium, which is what you want.
Try an overall approach that is healthier. Eliminate fast foods and try to eat more wholesome. That doesn't have to be oatmeal, but find somethings that are less processed-raw fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads (check fiber, calories, and nutritional content), and drink water. If you are a smoker or consume caffiene, try to reduce and make a plan to stop.
