Considering that Cannabis isn't habit forming, & chances are your nan isn't out roaming around for drug dealers--I suspect there is not a great chance that you'd have to worry about her using it as a "gate-way" drug...
Plus, many seniors are on habit-forming "legal" drugs that are far more dangerous so be glad that she's chosen cannabis over her sleeping pills or pain pills any day.
she wont get on cocaine or herin if she doesnt want to. Its all about will power. They call marijuana the gateway drug but honestly if the person wants to try cocaine or heroin they would no matter if they smoked weed first or not.
