Is overdosing on Ibuprofen illegal in the United States. I've heard different things and I just want to check.

Answer:

Overdosing on anything is morally wrong so don't do it. As far as been legal why don't you pickup the phone and ask the police dept. and see what they tell you. I think personally they would take you to the nearest hospital or clinic to see whats wrong with your head then maybe have you commited. Follow

Well, you aren't clear on what you specifically mean by overdosing - how much, why, etc, but unless you purposely overdose yourself or another person to cause harm, I don't believe it is illegal.

Although I doubt that it is illegal, it is always best to follow manufacturer's directions. It may not be illegal, but it is dangerous.

There are no laws against stupidity. But then, why would anyone want to overdose on any medication? We are all responsible for the consequences of our actions, and the consequences of overdosing can be quite miserable. As an aside, there is a process in most states in the US called emergency protective custody. This is a law that permits involuntary admission of an individual to a mental health care facility when they are believed to be of potential harm to themselves, as, for example, when they overdose. This could be interpreted to mean overdosing is "illegal", however, one does not go to jail for this.

just about anything that brings the cops ,or fireman to take care of nonsense is illegal,,,Suicide against the law in 491/2 states Oregon ls between just tell the law you were just playing, not killing yourself and take it from there

but I doubt it'll take your pain away, or make you feel high or sleep. so, if you're overdosing to make yourself feel good. try something different. ;]

I think if you were trying to commit suicide it would be illegal, but otherwise it probably is ok. I think you can safely take twice the recommended dose, but you would probably only do that if you had a high fever, and I think doing that is only for short-term usage.
