Hi! Ok, for the swelling use Chammomile essential oil...rub it on topically (like you would a cream)...it is a wonderful antiinflammatory, and will take care of the swelling quickly - some of the pain as well. I always use Feverfew, an herb you can get at the health food stores, for pain, especially arthritic pain or head pain. It is wonderful, and works within just a few minutes. If you are on blood thinners or have a blood disorder, or are pregnant/nursing, you should not take Feverfew but take White Willow Bark instead because of interactions. Also, stop taking Feverfew a week prior to any surgery.
