My teenage daughter is allergic to Asprin. Is there or was there a Pepto Bismol product out there in medication world that has acetaminophen as a substitute for asprin? If so where can I find some on line so that I can purchase some for my home? I had seen some many years ago in a store and have not come across it since. Does anyone know? Thanks a bunch.

no there isnt. tell a pharmacist the symptoms youre trying to treat in your daughter, and they can probably help you find something else that'd work

and like the guy above me said, its not exactly asprin that's in pepto and no subsitituting acetominophen wouldnt do the same thing

It's said "you learn something new every day", and I just did now! I don't know how I reached the age of 34 and never knew Pepto Bismol had aspirin in it, but I really never knew! I thought it was just some type of antacid, along with some type of demulcent to coat and soothe the stomach. (Well, and artificial flavor and color). If someone has an upset stomach, why would they want aspirin, which in some cases can irritate it even more? (i.e. if one has an ulcer).

Anyway, I'm sorry I don't have an actual answer that will help your daughter, but I hope someone does! :) In the meantime, I'll let you know if I come across anything like Pepto that does not contain aspirin.

1) There is no "aspirin" in Pepto Bismol. PB contains salicylate, which is a closely related compound. People who are allergic to aspirin MIGHT react to the salicylate in PB, so it is not recommended.

2) There is no substitute (like acetaminophen) for the salicylate in PB.

There are other products which can help with the conditions that you'd want to take PB for, what are you trying to treat?
