I hear good things about Hoodia, but thats to suppress your appetite. Also, take a multivitamin b/c when you diet, odds are you're not getting all the nutrients you need from your food. Lastly, green tea is said to have anti-oxidants and metabolism boosters but the research supporting that claim is a little shaky.


Don't take diet pills or fat burners -- they're LOADED with caffeine and can really mess with your metabolism. Instead, drink tea. Tea is high in antioxidants and naturally boosts metabolism (yes, some of that boost is from the caffeine, but most of it is from the flavonoids and antioxidants in it). Black pekoe tea, which is the main ingredient in Lipton tea bags, is good, and so is green tea. WARNING!!! DO NOT drink the stuff out of the bottle/can from Arizona, Lipton, Nestea, Snapple, or any of the others -- it's LOADED with high fructose corn syrup, which is the ingredient in Coke and other soft drinks that can put 15 pounds on you in one year just by drinking one can a day.
The best way to increase your metabolism is to increase the vitamin and mineral intake. Lots of water will flush out the body. Also consider adding some unsaturated oil to your diet. It helps open up the body cells and release toxins. Balanced meals will give you all the nutrients. Don't forget the fiber.
Eating a lot of fruits, vegetables, soups and liquids (meal replacement shakes) will all digest easily and quickly. You can also try to eat 5 or 6 smalls meals a day spread out throughout the day instead of eating 2 or 3 big ones. Its also helpful not to eat anything after 7pm.
