Also earaches can be caused by a tooth problem...so keep that in mind as well.
You can also put a little warm baby oil in your ear...it might ease the earache....
Heat some dry salt in the microwave and pour it into a clean sock. Use about 1 cup of salt. Put it in a bowl, cover with wax paper or something similar (to keep from splattering all over the microwave) pour into a sock, tie with a string to keep salt in sock. hold it to the area of the ear that hurts.
I don't remember how long you heat the salt. Try 1 minute first to see how hot it gets. Be careful, don't burn yourself. It helped me when I needed it. Just don't let it get too hot. If it does, let it cool down a little.
You can try the things that you read here but let me say this.....I have a friend who is deaf in both ears. He got that way because his mother wouldn't take him to the doc when he was little and had ear infections. You figure it out. Not trying to be nasty but I get them a lot. Unfortunately there's not much of a cure except antibiotics. If you are stuffed up or have sinus infection too, then try using salt water and pour it thru one side of your nose and let it drip out the other side while you tilt your head to the side. There is a thing called a netti pot. Look it up. It tells you how to do this. I cleanses the whole sinus area. A lot of the sinus stuff deals with the ears. Since I learned how to do this I haven't had many ear infections. Odd but true. good luck.
