Like the last question I made today, about treating serious wounds, I am doing a research about surviving in the Everglades without any civilization around you. I am looking for answers that goes according to my status- I have a limited amount of things except for the clothes I have on and a hatchet. (o_0)

that depends on what kind of shock it is.

if its an anaphalactic shock (allergic reaction) theres nothing much you can do. the body itself will try fight it, but it might fail.

Have the person lie flat, to help the flow of blood to the heart and brain. Also elevate the legs to the height of 12 to 18 inches. Cover the patient and protect him from losing any body heat. Handle him very gently as pain increases shock.

So how do you have internet if you only have your clothes and a hatchet with you? Elevate the feet and keep the person as warm and comfortable as possible. Water helps too.

It all depends on the type of shock you are dealing with, or what is causing the shock.

If it is a mental shock you dont have to do much just keep the person warm and quiet. Legs up body down and they will soon be fit as a fiddle.

Anaphilactic shock (Allergic shock) you have a real problem cos you cant do much. Try to reduce or eliminate the agent (mostly plant /animal poisons) as much as possible or to lokalise its action for example in the case of bite by tying off the affected area (mostly limb) so that the allergen can get only slowwly into the systemic circulation. Mentain an open air passage way for breathing if possible by intubation, if need be by punctuing the windpipe above the adams apple, but this is a very dangerous manouver and only a last resort in case of iminent suffocation.
