has anyone ever experimented with effexor for recreational uses? if so what are the affects of it?
Answer:Glad you asked. As powerful a drug as it is, it did nothing to help my depression. So for recreational use, I would not recommend it. I doubt you would get any kind of high. Since learning how to overcome my depression, I've found no need for any type of drugs. I'm quite happy and content with things just the way they are.

As someone who has had to take efexor for clinical depression for many years and is now weaning off it gradually, and with the help of my doctor, I would certainly not recommend anyone to underestimate the ill effects of using prescribed anti depressants for pleasure
I was on this medicine for depression. I did not abuse it ,but the side effects we're awful; it made me gain so much weight, that I had to stop taking it because it put me in the risk for a heart attack I would talk to your'e DR about getting off this medication ASAP!!!
